East Carolina announces three graduate transfer additions from Power 5 programs: Duke quarterback Thomas Sirk, Clemson running back Tyshon Dye and Minnesota defensive lineman Gaelin Elmore. All three will be eligible this season.

ACC commissioner John Swofford said he expects the revenue gap between his conference and the Big Ten and SEC to close once the ACC Network launches in 2019. "That's why we're doing the channel," Swofford said. "We fully expect a gap with particularly the Big Ten and SEC here for a couple of years but that's the very reason we've signed to do what we're doing. We fully expect that gap will narrow considerably when we get the channel up and running."

Duke rewards Cutcliffe with 2-year extension

Duke head coach David Cutcliffe has been rewarded with a two-year contract extension that will keep him with the Blue Devils through June 2021.

David Cutcliffe doesn't mince words about changes to visits/signing, calling it "irresponsible" and "reckless." "There was nobody in favor of this in the assistant coaches ranks," he said. "I just don't think it's going to help us in any form or fashion."

Duke's high sack total may not be a bad thing

Duke yielded 31 sacks in 2016, most of the David Cutcliffe era, but some of them were due to young QB Daniel Jones standing in trying to make a play.

Jared Shanker ESPN Staff Writer

With QB Thomas Sirk transferring, there's no doubt Duke's offense is Daniel Jones'. By season's end last year he looked to be the best fit for Duke moving forward. The former walk-on rebounded from a shaky start to throw for 9 TDs and 1 INT over his last six games. Coaches gush about his growth, and he'll be one of the ACC's better QBs this fall as a RS sophomore.
