Why Mark Few's legacy never hinged on the Final Four

Mark Few's first Final Four comes in his 18th season at Gonzaga. He says he has never felt the pressure, that his legacy won't be defined by how far his teams went in the NCAA tournament.

See how the Men's Final Four court is made!

From deep in a Michigan forest to University of Phoenix Stadium in Arizona, the floor at this weekend's Men's Final Four has completed a cross-country journey, lasting nearly five months.

ESPN Stats and Information

The Westgate Las Vegas SuperBook gives Gonzaga a very slight edge over North Carolina in its current odds for the national title. Oregon sits a bit further back at 4-1, while South Carolina is a distant fourth.

ESPN's BPI gives Gonzaga better than a 50-50 shot to win it all in Phoenix, thanks largely to drawing seventh-seeded South Carolina in the semifinals. North Carolina-Oregon is a tighter matchup by BPI's measure, hurting each team's title odds.

ESPN Stats and Information

After UNC (runner-up) and Oregon (Elite Eight) made deep tourney runs last year, each was given decent odds in Las Vegas to challenge for the title this season. Meanwhile, Gonzaga and South Carolina were preseason longshots.

ESPN Stats and Information

Only one team has entered the Final Four with a better average point differential than Gonzaga in the last two decades. However, that's hardly been a guarantee for previous heavyweights to win it all.

Who has the Final Four's best player?

North Carolina boasts the deepest roster of talent at the Final Four, but it isn't as pronounced as you might think. The No. 1 player in Glendale is an obvious choice from a surprising team.

ESPN Stats and Information

Age has had its advantages when competing for a national title in recent years. Of this year's Final Four, North Carolina and Gonzaga typically start the most seniors and juniors (four each).

Ball, Mason III among 5 Wooden Award finalists

UCLA's Lonzo Ball, Kansas' Frank Mason III, Gonzaga's Nigel Williams-Goss, Villanova's Josh Hart and Purdue's Caleb Swanigan were named on Monday to the John Wooden All-American Team.

ESPN Stats and Information

The state of South Carolina has never had a men's basketball team in the Final Four. It's been 54 years since a team from Oregon has appeared there, and 59 years for a team from Washington. North Carolina, meanwhile, was represented by UNC last year.

ESPN Stats and Information

This year's Final Four is not quite ideal for fans of the NBA draft. Duke, Kentucky, Arizona and UCLA all have more freshmen in Chad Ford's top 100 than the Final Four teams combined.

ESPN Stats and Information

The last remaining 5-star players from the 2013 recruiting class have made a huge impact on this year's tournament. While Kasey Hill and Zak Irvin couldn't get their teams over the hill into the Final Four, Isaiah Hicks and Nigel Williams-Goss will now look to cap off this season by winning the national championship.
