Pedroia won't play 'baseball police' on slide

The Red Sox's Dustin Pedroia will leave it to others to judge whether Manny Machado's controversial slide into second base Friday night was legal or against the rules.

Scott Lauber ESPN Staff Writer

In phone call today, John Farrell and Joe Torre had difference of opinion about slide rule as relates to Pedroia-Machado affair. Torre believes Pedroia didn't attempt to turn double play, therefore no interference call. Farrell contends Pedroia couldn't have attempted double play because of Machado slide.
