The lefty-lefty matchup didn't work out Wednesday night for the Giants' Matt Moore against Cubs 1B Anthony Rizzo. The same thing happened to the Marlins' Wade LeBlanc more than four years ago.

Anthony Rizzo has seen 3 pitches so far from Matt Moore and deposited two of them in the right field bleachers. It's his 14th multi home run game of his career and first this season. It's also the second time in his career he has two home runs off of left-handed pitching in the same game. (ESPN Stats and Info). Rizzo now has 4 home runs in his last 4 games and 5 in his last 8.

Cubs' road trip to highlight '70s, 'Anchorman'

Continuing what is now a couture tradition within the Cubs' clubhouse, manager Joe Maddon and the players will wear 1970s fashions and pay homage to the Will Ferrell flick "Anchorman" on the team's road trip to California.

Jesse Rogers ESPN Staff Writer

Joe Maddon has been wanting a Ron Burgundy themed trip when heading out west so this weekend his players will don 70's clothes. Maddon thinks Tommy La Stella would make a good Brick Tamland, the weather man in the Anchorman movies: "They're like two interchangeable guys. I see Brick, I see Tommy. I see Tommy, I see Brick. Put some glasses on Tommy, some sideburns, I got Brick."

Watch Joe Maddon discuss his lineup configuration for Wednesday night as he has Javier Baez leading off. He wanted to keep Ian Happ behind Anthony Rizzo while hoping Baez and fellow righty Albert Almora Jr can do some damage to Giants lefty Matt Moore.

The Cubs will wear 70's outfits on their upcoming road trip to LA and San Diego. It's their first theme trip of the season as Joe Maddon continues his tradition of keeping things loose. Addison Russell : "The 70's are way over my head so I need some help."

Jesse Rogers ESPN Staff Writer

Joe Maddon has juggled the top of his lineup once again as the Cubs face lefty Matt Moore on Wednesday. With Ben Zobrist and Kyle Schwarber getting the day off Javy Baez will lead off for the first time this season. Albert Almora Jr will bat second for the second time this week while Miguel Montero catches for Kyle Hendricks.

ESPN Stats and Information

Kyle Schwarber's home run -- which left Wrigley Field and landed on Sheffield Avenue -- paced the league by 10 feet on Tuesday. Bryce Harper landed comfortably in second, followed by Michael Conforto, Kendrys Morales and Charlie Blackmon.

ESPN Stats and Information

Watch Kyle Schwarber discuss his 460 ft home run in the Cubs 4-1 win over the Giants on Tuesday.

Jesse Rogers ESPN Staff Writer

The Cubs beat the Giants 4-1 behind Jon Lester's complete game, the first of the season for the team -- and first since he shutout the Giants last Sept. Lester was aided by 3 home runs including a 460 ft shot by Kyle Schwarber in the first inning. Anthony Rizzo and Jason Heyward also homered but Lester was the story. He gave up 4 hits and struck out 10 batters including 2 in the final inning. He was fantastic in a game that lasted just 2:05.

ESPN Stats and Information

Cubs LF Kyle Schwarber has hit 28 home runs in his young major league career, regular season and postseason. His first-inning blast on Tuesday night off a 3-2 pitch by the Giants' Johnny Cueto traveled the farthest, clearing Wrigley Field's right-field bleachers.

Jesse Rogers ESPN Staff Writer

After yet another opponent was caught stealing tonight Jon Lester will undoubtedly move up the ranks among qualified pitchers as only 6 of 14 base runners this season have been successful off him. Thanks to catcher Willson Contreras, that caught stealing pct (57 percent) ranked Lester seventh in the NL and that was before Eduardo Nunez of the Giants was thrown out in the 5th inning.
