Revisiting preseason questions: Indians

In mid-February, we wondered if Cleveland's most important pitchers could avoid an October hangover. So far, Corey Kluber has landed on the DL, but Andrew Miller and Cody Allen are showing no ill effects.

Inside Heat: Hoynes On Indians' lack of identity

Buster Olney talks to Paul Hoynes of The Cleveland Plain Dealer about the Indians' lack of success so far this season, the team's struggles to find an identity, Edwin Encarnacion and more.

David Schoenfield ESPN Senior Writer

Nothing sums up baseball in 2017 better than Danny Salazar's pitching line against the Rays so far. He has nine strikeouts in five innings and has allowed five hits -- but four of them are home runs! Strikeouts and home runs are fun, but are they fun when that's all that is happening?

Tristan H. Cockcroft ESPN Senior Writer

Bradley Zimmer will make his big-league debut as the Indians' No. 9 hitter, which I'd like a little more if he had Carlos Santana, who is one of the hitters most comfortable working the count in the game, hitting behind him (Santana led off the team's first 35 games). Zimmer's fantasy value is likely to come primarily from stolen bases, so it's tough to make a shallow-mixed case for him as a nine-hitter.
