It looks like the Mariners will climb over .500 for the first time all season as Robinson Cano cracks a grand slam off Francisco Rodriguez to give them a 9-3 lead. Cano actually shook his head on contact, thinking he had just missed it, but the ball sailed just over the fence. Did somebody say the balls might be full of rabbits?

Sutcliffe: No problem with Dyson's bunt (1:19)

David Schoenfield ESPN Senior Writer

Jarrod Dyson breaks up Justin Verlander's perfect game with a one-out bunt single in the sixth, perfectly placed past Verlander and too far for Miguel Cabrera to make a play. And, no, Dyson didn't break any sacred rules. You're trying to win a game here.

David Schoenfield ESPN Senior Writer

We're seeing vintage Justin Verlander tonight at Safeco Field. He's perfect through five innings with nine strikeouts, hitting 97 mph and blowing his fastball past the Mariners on several occasions. He's at 76 pitches, so he'll run up a high pitch count if he keeps this going.
