Upton wins Silver Slugger Award
Angels OF Justin Upton was announced as an American League Silver Slugger Award winner on Thursday. The award honors the best offensive player at each position in each league. Upton slashed .273/.361/.540 with 35 home runs in 152 games combined with Los Angeles and Detroit. It's the third Silver Slugger win of his career, but first in the AL.
The Angels had more comeback wins than any team. However, for the first time since 2012, they had to play without Mike Trout for an extended period. Meanwhile, Albert Pujols became one of the game's worst players.

Angels decline options on Street, Nolasco
The Angels declined club options on RHPs Huston Street and Ricky Nolasco on Thursday. Street appeared in only four games last season due to a groin injury, while Nolasco was 6-15 with a 4.92 ERA in 33 starts. Los Angeles also outrighted RHP Deolis Guerra to Triple-A Salt Lake. Guerra posted a 4.68 ERA over 19 games in 2016.
