Red Sox 6, Angels 2: In his latest bit of dominance, Chris Sale also made history. Sale tossed six scoreless innings and struck out nine batters to reach 200 strikeouts for the season. He got to that mark in 141 1/3 innings, fewer than any AL pitcher ever. The Red Sox scored five runs in the first inning and cruised in the opener of a six-game West Coast trip.

Harper: Trout is a 'great baseball player' (1:27)

Alden Gonzalez ESPN Staff Writer

Nationals manager Dusty Baker, on the biggest difference with Bryce Harper this year: "No. 1 he's healthy, and No. 2 he's not in a hurry at the plate, like he was last year. He doesn't like his year last year, and it happens. Everybody can have a down year. The public and the media, they don't see it like that. But some years everything falls and some years nothing falls. We knew Bryce was going to bounce back, because he doesn't like not performing well and doing well."

Alden Gonzalez ESPN Staff Writer

Bryce Harper on Mike Trout: "He's a talent that comes in once in a lifetime. He's must-watch TV always. ... But there's a lot of young guys in this game, and it's going in the right direction. Very excited to see what happens in the future, and excited for the young guys in baseball."
