Predicting Dodgers' 2017 record

The Los Angeles Dodgers won a fourth straight NL West title in 2016 despite a piecemeal rotation. Joe Peta doesn't think the bullpen will bail L.A. out to such a degree in 2017.

Players' union director Tony Clark said communication was made with Dodgers 1B Adrian Gonzalez after Gonzalez was upset over a tie-breaker rule that eliminated his Mexico team from the WBC: "We appreciate Adrian and what he brings to the table, not just for his country, but for our game. We understood the comments that Adrian made and did have dialogue with Adrian understanding where those comments came from and why they came in the fashion that they did and are confident that as the tournament moves forward, and that as our game moves forward, that Adrian's support and his place in the game are in a good place."

How rare is this Dodger Stadium rain during the WBC semifinal between USA and Japan? The Dodgers have experienced just 17 rainouts in Dodger Stadium history. The last was in April of 2000, giving them a club record 1,374 games since one was last called. Oddly, the club had three consecutive April games rained out in 1988.

Fans might be here to watch Team USA play, but the Giants' Brandon Crawford still got booed during introductions at Dodger Stadium. Dodgers fans are keeping it loyal, at least until Crawford drives in the game winner, or something.

Dodgers closer Kenley Jansen said his one WBC appearance for the Netherlands was "a blast." Jansen was having a rocky spring before dominating Puerto Rico on Monday with a nine-pitch perfect inning. "Spring training sometimes gets to you," Jansen said. "There is no adrenaline but I understand also that you have to get ready. But this was a great thing for me just to get that adrenaline kicking and see where you're at."

Not your typical scene 2.5 hours before a baseball game at Dodger Stadium. According to AccuWeather, there is a 51 percent chance of rain at first pitch (6 p.m. PST) for the WBC semifinal between the United States and Japan.

Team Puerto Rico will be the home team in the WBC Final at Dodger Stadium tomorrow, independently of the result of the game tonight. Team PR won a coin toss vs Team Japan, so if Japan wins tonight, PR will be the home team. Team PR also owns the better head-to-head record over Team USA, so if USA wins tonight, PR would still be the home team tomorrow.

Doug Padilla ESPN Staff Writer

After the Netherlands' defeat in the WBC semifinals Monday, Kenley Jansen said he would return to the Dodgers in Arizona on Tuesday. Jansen had a dominating scoreless inning for the Netherlands, throwing nine pitches while striking out two against Puerto Rico.

The tarp is out with rain in the forecast for tomorrow. There hasn't been a rainout at Dodger Stadium since 2000. According to ESPN research, there have been 1,400 games played at Dodger Stadium since their last rainout (4/17/00 - includes playoffs) and there have been 168 games since rain caused delays (4/7/15 - includes playoffs).

Kenley Jansen's teammate Kike Hernández on the approach at the plate vs. the Dodgers All-Star closer: "How do you hit him? Well, the entire world knows what's coming. It's going to be a cutter, just like Mariano (Rivera) did back in the day. Kenley probably has the best cutter in the game right now, and he's going to come right at you. You know what's coming, and he's one of the best for a reason. So you've just got to make sure that you look for one pitch, one spot, one location, and if you get it, try to not miss it, because he's really good."
