Nava lands on DL again

The Phillies placed OF Daniel Nava (lower back strain) on the 10-day disabled list, retroactive to Aug. 12, and recalled OF Cameron Perkins from Triple-A Lehigh Valley. Nava had recently missed 10 days of action with a hamstring strain. Perkins owns a .194/.271/.258 slash line across 30 prior games with Philadelphia this season.

Nola makes Phillies history

Aaron Nola gave up one run in seven innings in Saturday's 3-1 win over the Mets, marking the 10th straight start in which he's allowed allowed two or fewer runs. That sets a Phillies record for consecutive starts allowing no more than two runs since 1893, when the pitching distance was set at 60 feet, six inches. Top Phillies prospect Rhys Hoskins is set to make his major league debut Thursday night against the Mets, starting in left field and batting seventh. Hoskins' 29 homers, 91 RBIs and .581 slugging percentage with Triple-A Lehigh Valley led the International League.

Herrera's two triples a rare Phillies feat

Phillies OF Odubel Herrera tripled in the first inning and connected for another three-bagger in the third inning Wednesday night vs. the Braves, becoming the first Phillies player in more than 25 years to hit a triple in each of his first two plate appearances of a game. Phillies unveil Players Weekend unis

Following MLB's Players Weekend announcement on Wednesday, the Phillies revealed the special jerseys they will wear Aug. 25-27. Players chose nicknames to sport on the backs of their uniforms, including “Torito” (Odubel Herrera), “Nicky Dubs” (Nick Williams) and “Whitey” (Andres Blanco).
