Kyrie Irving ditched his protective mask in the third quarter of Thursday's win over the Golden State Warriors but expects to be back in it on Saturday in Atlanta. Why? "Just in the best interests of myself," said Irving, who has a facial fracture below his right eye.

Can Celtics keep win streak intact?

The Celts have won 14 straight games, five shy of matching their franchise-record 19-game win streak during the 2008-09 season. Boston plays four of its next five games on the road, but the level of opponents isn't overwhelming.

Celts' Brown 'inspired' after best friend's death

Celtics forward Jaylen Brown said he played with a heavy heart Thursday against the Warriors after finding out about the death of his best friend Wednesday.

Chris Forsberg ESPN Staff Writer

Kyrie Irving on the presence of Gordon Hayward on Thursday night: "It's unbelievable. A few more years with that guy, so I'm excited about it. Just being on the bench, seeing him, getting his knowledge of the game, you can tell that he misses it. The rest will just stand strong and I know he's standing strong to be able to be there and understand that his support goes a long way and we're happy to have him here."
