What did playing the Warriors twice in a week show Brett Brown? "That you're not that far off. They are the clear-cut league's best, but we can play with them."

Coley Harvey ESPN Staff Writer

Sixers coach Brett Brown believes fatigue from the recent West Coast trip contributed to the third-quarter disparity that led to his team's loss Saturday ... but so did his opponent. "They're the NBA champion with all four All-Stars, and we felt every one of them tonight."

Already several special moments for this Sixers crowd halfway through the first quarter, and they feature the young stars, Joel Embiid and Ben Simmons. Embiid opened the scoring less than 30 seconds in with a dunk after a feed from Simmons. Then Embiid got fans roaring with a 3, before Simmons followed that up with a dunk of his own.

Joel Embiid hits a 3 to put the Sixers up 18-11. Warriors coach Steve Kerr calls timeout. Embiid encourages the crowd to get into the game. Electric atmosphere thus far.
