Smith would fill PG need for Kings

Sacramento probably won't pick near the top, but if the Kings get the No. 8 pick, Dennis Smith would give them an athletic PG who can get to the rim at will.

Hield, Lawson lead Kings past Suns, 129-104

Buddy Hield scored a career-high 30 points and Ty Lawson had his first career triple-double, getting 22 points, 12 assists and 11 rebounds as the Sacramento Kings beat the Phoenix Suns 129-104.

Baxter Holmes ESPN Staff Writer

Coupled with the Phoenix Suns' loss to Sacramento, the Lakers' win over the New Orleans Pelicans -- their fifth straight overall win -- means the Suns will finish with the NBA's second-worst record while the Lakers will finish with the NBA's third-worst. For the Lakers, that means they'll have a 47.8 percent chance of keeping their top-three protected draft pick at the May 16 NBA draft lottery. If the pick falls below the third pick, it goes to the Philadelphia 76ers.
