Last season, John Wall became the second player in NBA history to average at least 25 points and 10 assists while playing at least 10 games in a single playoff season. The other was Russell Westbrook, who posted averages of 26.0 points and 11.0 assists in 18 games during the 2016 postseason.

The Designated Player Veteran Extension numbers for the Wizards John Wall would mirror that of the Rockets James Harden. The four year breakdown would be: $37.8M, $40.8M, $43.8M and $46.8M. The first year would start in 2019-20 and is based on a $108M salary cap. The total dollars of the current contract (2 years) and extension (4 years) is $206.5M.

Markkanen bounces back vs. Wizards

Bulls' lottery pick Lauri Markkanen totaled 20 points and 10 rebounds on Tuesday after scoring just eight on Monday. Antonio Blakeney (23 points) and Denzel Valentine (15) also played well in Chicago's 82-73 win over Sheldon Mac (20 points) and the Wizards.

Wizards drop close one in Vegas

The Washington Wizards fell to 0-2 in summer league after a 91-87 loss to the Heat. Sheldon McClellan led all scorers with 18 and Chris McCullough recorded a double-double with 10 points and 11 rebounds.

Reports: Wiz match Nets' offer for Porter Jr.

The Wizards, who had made it clear they intended to match any offer to restricted free agent Otto Porter Jr., matched the Nets' $106 million offer that Porter had agreed to earlier this week, according to multiple reports.

The Wizards salary now increase to $126.5M with the match of the Nets offer sheet of Otto Porter. Washington's current tax bill is $11.4M with 13 guaranteed and 2 non-guaranteed contracts. Porter becomes the highest paid Wizard and has a no trade clause for the season.

Wiz drop summer league opener

The Washington Wizards fell to the Memphis Grizzlies 91-88 in Saturday's Las Vegas Summer League opener. G Jared Cunningham scored a team-high 26 points off the bench. C Daniel Ochefu tallied a double-double with 13 points and 10 boards.

Nets' offer to Porter has interesting clause (0:46)

The Wizards now have two days to match the four-year $106.5M Otto Porter offer sheet signed with Brooklyn. The Nets cap space will be tied up for at least two days until the Wizards either match or decline the sheet. The Nets cap space now goes from $28M to $3.5M. A match and Washington will be in the luxury tax for the 2017-18 and possibly 2018-19 season.
