MVP Matt Ryan ($20.75 million/year) is 1 of 11 NFL QBS currently averaging more than $20 million per year and 1 of 9 with $50 million plus guaranteed in their contracts. With Adam Schefter reporting Raiders Derek Carr on verge of $25 million per year to top Colts Andrew Luck ($24.594/year), it will be interesting to see what's next up for the 32-year-old Ryan coming off his best season. Ryan has two years and $35 million left on his deal, and owner Arthur Blank said Ryan "needs to be compensated well, and he will be."

The Falcons wrapped up their three-day minicamp Thursday with another day of emphasis on developing the young players, not just the rookies. Coach Dan Quinn explained there was more focus on the passing game and on individual drills at camp. The other emphasis was how to feature some of the new players like Dontari Poe and Jack Crawford in the system. The biggest minicamp battle, between Wes Schweitzer and Ben Garland at RG, really won't be decided until the Falcons put the pads on at training camp.
