Giants might punish benched Apple for tweets

Interim coach Steve Spagnuolo said the Giants are deciding what to do after Eli Apple, who was inactive for the fourth straight game, tweeted during Sunday's loss to the Cowboys.

OL Justin Pugh is having his back checked this week by Dr. Robert Watkins in L.A. The hope is it just needs rest. WR Darius Powe needs surgery on his broken foot. (DE Romeo Okwara is eligible to return from IR this week and could be activated as early as Tuesday.)
