NFL draft buzz: Dalvin Cook

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers have said they really like Dalvin Cook, and it's likely they'll strongly consider him if he's still on the board at No. 19.

Draft Prediction: Bucs take RB

Tampa Bay hosted Dalvin Cook, among other RBs, for a pre-draft visit. If he slips to the Bucs at No. 19, it would be hard for them to pass him up.

Between visits & workouts, Toledo RB Kareem Hunt met with Detroit, New England, San Francisco, New Orleans, Tampa Bay, Cleveland, Philadelphia, Atlanta, Tennessee, Carolina and the New York Jets. Hunt is a possible Day 2 pick at running back. Hunt had 262 carries for 1,475 yards and 10 touchdowns with 41 catches and 403 receiving yards last season.

Western Michigan wide receiver Corey Davis did not visit the Bucs, nor did he have a private workout with them. He did have a meeting with them at the NFL combine, however. He visited five teams: Titans, Eagles, Ravens, Browns and Cardinals.

ESPN Stats and Information

Week 2 of the NFL season will be circled in red ink on a lot of calendars, as three head coaches and two prominent players who changed squads this offseason will face their former teams for the first time.

Think the Bucs have a quirky schedule? The Falcons are the first team since the eight-division format began in 2002 that does not play a divisional opponent before Week 9, according to ESPN Stats & Info. They end the season with four-straight divisional games.

ESPN Stats and Information

The Buccaneers will be under the Monday Night Football spotlight just once this season, and it will be against Super Bowl runner-up Atlanta. However, they may be better prepared considering they will have already faced the Falcons just three weeks before their MNF appearance.

Here's the official Tampa Bay Buccaneers schedule for 2017. Nationally-televised games against both Super Bowl teams...

Source tells me that the Bucs will take on the Falcons on Monday Night Football in Tampa Dec. 18 (Week 15). The Bucs will play the Falcons in Atlanta Nov. 26 (Week 12).

The NFL schedule release doesn't come out until 8 p.m. ET, but a source tells me that the Bucs will host the Giants Oct. 1 at Raymond James Stadium.
